Raymond Yuen

Appointed annually by Council, the Chair serves for one year but is eligible for re-appointment for a consecutive year, assuming office at the Annual General Meeting. Aside from guiding the Council’s discussions in a fair and efficient manner, the Chair is entitled a casting vote in any polls among Council members in the case of an equality of votes. Vice Chair(s) of Council

Elected deputies for the Chair, up to three Vice Chairs shall serve for one year and be eligible for re- appointment for two consecutive years. In the absence of the Chair, Council shall nominate a Senior Vice-Chair from available Vice Chairs to stand in for the duration.

The Immediate Past Chair serves to advise and support the Chair and Council with their own expertise and experience both within their own fields as well as from their work with the Institution.

The Chair of the Membership Committee is elected by Committee members to lead their discussions and represent them at Council. The Committee has delegated authority from Council to elect applicants to any appropriate grade of membership and registration who generally meet the requirements laid out by the Institution.

The Chair of the Education and Training Committee is elected by Committee members to lead their discussions and represent them at Council. The Committee has delegated authority from Council to accredit academic programmes on behalf of the Institution, as well as advises the Membership Committee on the suitability of academic qualifications of applicants.

The Regional Coordinator representative represents all regional branch coordinators on Council and reports on branch activities on a regular basis.

Councillors

Together with ex-officio members of Council, ordinary Councillors represent the Membership in the business of the Institution. There are up to sixteen 'ordinary' Council members at any one time, selected to ensure that all grades of membership and registration are represented on the governing body.

Mandy Chessell

Appointed every two years by Council, the President of the Institution, as well as any Vice-Presidents deemed appropriate, represent and further the aims and objectives of the Institution. Upon expiry, the President’s term may be renewed by Council for a further two years. While not a voting member of Council, the President is entitled to be present at all Council meetings and advises Council in their deliberations.

The Honorary Treasurer is appointed annually by Council eligible to serve for a maximum of five consecutive years. The Treasurer is the Council’s representative to carry out random and regular examinations of the Institution’s accounts, monitoring the financial controls exercised by the Secretariat and sees that the accounts are maintained in accordance relevant best practice, legal requirements and the Institution’s own Regulations. The role guards against the possibility of fraud and ensures clear audit trails of financial matters are maintained.
